COLIN LINDEN INTERVIEW #2

Colin Linden 2 Interview

(Originally aired on April 4, 2013)

Slide guitarist Colin Linden juggles two careers — one as a solo artist and the other as a producer and ace sideman. He has produced more than 70 albums (including seven with Bruce Cockburn) and played on more than 300. Linden has accompanied Cockburn, Emmylou Harris, Gregg Allman, Mavis Staples, Lucinda Williams, and Robert Plant and Alison Krauss, and his songs have been recorded by The Band, The Blind Boys of Alabama and Keb’ Mo’. Linden also appears in Down From The Mountain, the documentary and concert film featuring artists who created the music for the movie, O Brother, Where Art Thou?

Linden’s new solo album, Still Live, captures him leading a superb band through a rollicking set at Nashville's Douglas Corner Café. In our exclusive interview, which we recorded backstage before his gig at another Nashville night club, Linden talks about making Still Live and his approach to songwriting. We'll hear cuts from the album throughout the feature.
