George Marinelli Interview

(Originally aired on February 14, 2013)

Since 1993, George Marinelli has been Bonnie Raitt‘s lead guitarist, providing her with grooving rhythms, riffs, and solos onstage and in the studio. Marinelli first emerged on the national scene as a founding member of Bruce Hornsby and The Range, and since then has established himself as an ace session musician, producer/engineer, and touring guitarist with credits that include Vince Gill, Art Garfunkel, the Dixie Chicks, and Joe Ely.

Marinelli is also a solo artist, and his new album, Believe, is packed with songs and stellar guitar parts that reveal his depth as a player, composer, and vocalist. In our exclusive interview, Marinelli describes composing and tracking this music, and details his creative process. We'll hear selections from Believe throughout the feature.
