Given her unique voice and impressive guitar chops, bluesy songstress and multi-instrumentalist Anne McCue has been described as a combination of Bonnie Raitt, Emmylou Harris, and Susan Tedeschi. She has been Roots Music Association’s Folk Artist of the Year.

Her love of music forged in Sydney, Australia, McCue landed in America as part of a band signed to Columbia Records. They toured with Lilith Fair and after 2 years McCue left to return to her solo career. After setting up shop in Los Angeles, she became a vital part of the city’s roots music scene, recording two attention-grabbing albums with Dusty Wakeman (Dwight Yoakam, Lucinda Williams): Roll and Koala Motel. Both releases garnered critical accolades. Billboard heralded her as the “virtual definition of ‘triple threat.’ A potent singer, thoughtful songwriter and tough guitarist.” A recent album, Broken Promise Land, showcases McCue’s rocking sensibility and six-string virtuosity.

Anne has just released her 6th studio album - Blue Sky Thinkin'. McCue recorded and produced the album alongside Dusty Wakeman (Lucinda Williams, Dwight Yoakam) in Los Angeles and Nashville and has been mastered by Ray Kennedy in Nashville. The album reunites the band from her critically acclaimed 'Roll' album and allows Anne to explore some of her favourite influences, including Billy Holiday, Charlie Christian, Howlin' Wolf, Memphis Minnie, Astor Piazzola, Peggy Lee, Irving Berlin, Django Reinhardt, Hoagy Carmichael, Bessie Smith and more.

These days, she spends a great deal of time in Nashville, honing her distinctive hybrid style of grassroots rock, blues, and folk. Americana icon Lucinda Williams has said of McCue: “Initially, her stunning voice hooked me in. Then I got inside the songs. The first chance I got, I went to see her perform . . . I was floored!"
