Jonathan Brown Spotlight

"Bluegrass Borderline" from his CD Jonathan Brown
TGS Spotlight Player from September 3, 2014

RECOMMENDED BY: John Haring, Executive Producer

These are the words most associated with Nashville’s own guitar star Jonathan Brown. A devoted disciple of the Fingerstyle Guitar Technique, Brown has forged a unique voice as a solo music artist, while endeavoring to keep the Fingerstyle tradition alive as an educator. Currently, he may be seen backing “Rayna Jaymes” in “Rayna’s Band” on the hit TV series NASHVILLE, while pursuing an active schedule lending his guitar talents in recording sessions throughout Music Row.

Rapidly garnering critical acclaim and sheer praise among his peers in guitarist circles around the world, Jonathan Brown has also earned a spot on the main stage with his contemporaries Tommy Emmanuel, Thom Bresh, and others, at premier events, such as the Chet Atkins Tribute Show, and a recent feature on the legendary Grand Ole Opry. Recognized by colleagues, friends, and contemporaries, alike, as the “real deal,” Jonathan Brown was the obvious choice when ABC/Lionsgate execs selected him to bring a taste of “real” Nashville to the runaway hit TV series NASHVILLE.

Known for his impeccably classic look originally born from one part Tennessee hills, one part Southern blue collar, and two parts 1960s Juke Joint, Jonathan Brown is an authentic icon of the Nashville landscape coming to a concert hall near you.
