From 1994 through 1999, Roman played guitar in the Big Band of his father, Maxim Miroshnichenko, while he was studying civil engineering at Dnepropetrovsk University in Ukraine. In 2000, Roman graduated from the university and entered the Moscow State University of Culture. It was during his first semester of study that he formed and started performing in his own fusion trio: «...But soon the band started to receive a lot of requests for gigs, we went on tour, we were so busy and I never saw that University again...»

In 2002, Roman founded his own band, RMProject, and has been touring since then all across Russia, ex-USSR, and European countries on regular basis. The band is a frequent visitor and headliner at many prestigious jazz festivals. Today, Roman is one of the leading fusion guitarists in the world, dexterously combining jazz, blues, Latin, African, and Cuban rhythms, with the energy of funk and the expressive style of flamenco.

The award was given to Roman by acting pilot-astronauts, who proposed to send a digital copy of Roman’s new album, "The Best of... GuitaROMANtic" to the Space Station on the next Russian mission launch.

Larry Coryell, the Godfather of fusion, commented on the release: "Temptation" is an excellent piece of the type of modern flamenco music that John McLaughlin and I played with Paco de Lucia in the late seventies in Europe. It is a wondrous aspect of the modern guitar evolution that a young Ukrainian could faithfully embrace the Spanish/Gypsy culture with such accuracy.“

Al Di Meola, the legendary guitarist, who considers Roman as his best disciple said: “I am flattered when Roman uses his ideas with my influence.”

The track “Unforgiven”, from Roman’s album “Temptation”, was the winner in “The Best World Traditional Song” category and also received a special people’s choice award - the “People’s Vox Populi” from the Independent Music Awards – 2010 one of the most significant musical awards for independent artists, comparable to the “Grammys” and “MTV Awards.”

The winners among thousands of nominees from all around the world in more than 50 categories were selected by the jury including 80 influential reviewers, musicians, producers and a number of other VIPs from world showbiz. Such world stars as Tom Waits, Lee Ritenour, David Garett, Suzanne Vega, Bettye LaVette were among the members of the jury.

Roman’s award was considered in the Russian mass media as a kind of “international breakthrough for modern Russian stage performers” in instrumental music. Also, the Ukrainian mass media called the achievements of its fellow countryman “a new Ukrainian crown jewel”.

In February 2011, Roman again became «The Independent Music Awards» nominee in the category “World beat” album of the year. UK portal “Acoustic Guitar Workshop” highly evaluates the virtuoso guitarist: “Roman is a phenomenal acoustic guitarist.
