Shayne Jacopian was born in the Kansas City area in 1993 and grew up just outside of Springfield, MO. He first picked up an electric guitar at the age of 9 and was playing in blues and classic rock cover bands by the age of 13. At 16, he discovered the acoustic guitar and the fingerstyle genre, citing Andy McKee, Kaki King, and Guy Buttery as major influences as he began a transition away from the electric guitar that would last for several years after a long period of musical exploration (under the mentorship of guitarist Aaron Roten of the Springfield-based prog/fusion trio Super-String-Theory) and regular opening-slot performances in and around Springfield as a solo instrumentalist, Shayne released his debut EP, Apricity, in May 2014, a 7-song collection of compositions exploring some of the many rich textures of the acoustic guitar.

Shayne currently lives in Nashville, TN, where he studies English and music business at Belmont University and writes for the Nashville-based science, technology, and entertainment site, as well as performing as a solo artist, accompanist, and session musician (where the dusty electric guitar is finally getting some well-deserved love again).
